<text>This parchment consists of two columns of text cut-out from a larger Torah scroll. Written on “gevil,” the narrative documents the initial revelation of God to Moses at the burning bush and His charge to liberate the Children of Israel from Egypt. The parchment and ink are in excellent condition, despite their age. The document is formatted to contain 46 lines per column.
The scroll exhibits a classical North African/Spanish hand. It has an exquisite calligraphy with very fine "Tagin" (crownlets). The use of the "Chet of Rashi" and "Shins with slightly elongated bases is evident throughout the scroll. Prominent as well is the inserting of the words "Ani Ado-nay" (I am the Lord) in very fine calligraphy in between the lines. This can be seen on the upper side of column two.</text>
