MS 1025, Exodus 2:5 to 4:31

MS1025 consists of three columns of text removed from a larger scroll. Other columns from this scroll may be seen in MS1019 and MS1020. The writ details the story of Moses by the Burning Bush. The deep warm orange color of the Gevil is typical of classic Spanish/Moroccan Scrolls. The beautifully calligraphic text exhibits a format of 48 lines per column.
The text is written in a classical Spanish/Moroccan hand. It exhibits the use of fine crownlets over the Sha'attnez Gez letters. Salient characteristics of this text include wide base "Shins," the use of the "Chet" of Rashi, Lameds with no heads, and elongated NUNs like in the word Va'Ani at the bottom of the last column. In addition, one can also notice the employment of letters GIMMEL with their foot “stuck” to their body.
