MS 1021, Exodus 14:28 to 17:14

MS1021 contains three columns of text removed from a larger sheet of parchment. The right edge of the parchment retains part of the stitching that bound it together with another sheet of the original Torah Scroll. The text is written on Gevil and is well preserved despite its age.
The narrative describes the Exodus from Egypt. It contains the poetic song of the crossing at the Sea of Reeds and describes the battle with Amalek. The text comes from the same scroll as MS 1022. The writ is simple and unflourished.
Of note is the use of the letter "Chet" written as two "VAVS" connected by a pitched roof. In addition, we find the use of the "Peh Lefufah" at certain key points in the text. "Tagin" (Crownlets) are not part of this writing tradition. Each column is formatted to contain 50 and 51 lines of text. The Song contains 31 lines of text instead of the traditional 30.
